Who are we?
We are independent professionals who serve industry, government and academia with established, professional bioscience consultants in several
continents. Members have a wealth of skills and experience gained whilst having held senior positions in industry.

Getting started with VCG LLP
I will be pleased to guide you in finding an appropriate consultant or team of consultants to work with. We will meet you to define a project,
and then provide a fully costed proposal, and ensure timely delivery to your specification. You will receive our best attention, along with complete
confidentiality. Send me an email and let me know your requirement, even if you haven't quite defined it yet.
About VCG LLP members
Membership is by election, and members are bound by a Code of Conduct to ensure the highest standards of professional performance. Members
maintain continuous close liaison mainly through a fortnightly newsletter, and meet regularly as a group to improve collaboration and share
expertise. To develop teamwork and networking skills, members participate in interdisciplinary 'white-paper' projects and exercises.

What sort of projects can we do?
The VCG LLP is ideally structured to undertake projects of any size. It has the resources to cope with the most complex of tasks -
but without the overheads that would burden smaller assignments.
VCG LLP members work individually, or in project teams assembled to fit the needs of the client, the project and the budget. For projects
involving a number of VCG LLP consultants, clients may deal with a single project manager or with everyone on the team, as preferred. Clients
always have access to the consultants actually carrying out the work.
Although VCG LLP members work on a completely confidential basis, they are always pleased to introduce clients to other members as appropriate.
In addition, VCG LLP members have extensive contacts with other specialists to access any particular skills when required for clients.
With consultants based in several countries, and many with recognised international reputation, The VCG LLP can provide a global span
to projects as well as a specific country focus.

Code of Conduct
Members are selected on the basis of integrity, professional competence and experience, using a peer-review
process by existing members.
VCG LLP members undertake to:
- deliver appropriate, timely and cost-effective service to our clients, working throughout
with credibility and integrity
- conduct ourselves in such a way as to reflect credit upon our clients, our group, the consulting
profession and our professional associations and societies
- respect any confidence gained in our professional capacity
- recognise our responsibility to maintain and enhance our professional competence by continuously
updating and improving our knowledge and proficiency
- deal promptly, fairly and effectively with any conflicts of interest that arise or that are foreseen
- deal promptly and fairly with any complaint
- avoid unwarranted statements that reflect upon the character or integrity of other members of the profession or the group
- carry appropriate insurance for our business activities
- deal fairly with fellow members and their clients
- be familiar with other members' activities and areas of expertise to enable most effective referrals
and formation of teams for larger projects

History of VCG
I founded the group in 1994 to fill a market niche in the bioscience consulting sector. Companies, academia and government all needed an
alternative to the city consultants with their large overheads and impersonal service, and to solo consultants who were unable to give
the breadth of expertise to cover larger assignments. As an unincorporated body, VCG has become recognised as a major contributor to
the raising of standards in this consulting sector, and the source of much excellent work in many fields. Government agencies have
particularly valued the independent viewpoint with some of the larger projects we have completed.
In this increasingly complex business world, we perceived a need to formalise our structure to offer a fuller range of services with
the weight of a limited company, but without some of the restrictions. In 2006, the 40 current members of VCG morphed into a Limited
Liability Partnership; this company format was introduced just a few years ago and aimed at multinational accountancy and law firms,
so we are the first to apply it to a consulting group. For the members, more security, stronger market presence and more services are created.
For clients, we can now offer at least as good a service as the city consultants, with all experts as required, true independence, and none
of the overheads of a big office. Services are offered across all the bioscience sectors, with the main umbrella areas being food and pharmaceuticals.
